Following on from the U14 Boys UWA City Beach Bears victory at the Under 14 National Club Championships in 2015, our boys have defended their title to claim victory again at the Gold Coast in 2016 over the Easter weekend. Our other teams the UWA City Beach Reds, and UWA City Beach Blacks, also excelled and placed in the top 16 with the Blacks coming in at a respectable 12th and the Reds at 16th. With all the Reds players eligible to play at next years U14’s again, this opportunity will have been a valuable learning experience and make them a team to look out for next time.
Meanwhile in Albury-Wodonga the U14 Girls competed in the same competition with our UWACB Bears defeating Cronulla Blacks to claim 13th, whilst their younger counterparts the Reds finished with a win over the Queensland Barracudas/Polo Bears Composite team in the Shield Division. Great work girls!
Congratulations to all our athletes on this outstanding achievement. Also, a huge thank you to all the coaches, managers, parents and supporters that made this happen – it could not happen with out your positive contribution.
