Our popular Friday night FlippaBall and Saturday morning District Schools Competitions are coming back in term 4, for a new season in the Water Polo Pool at HBF Stadium!
The major focus of these programs is for children to have fun, in a safe, family oriented, aquatic environment.
The BBQ will sizzle and the Polo Bear Café will be available for refreshments.
FRIDAY NIGHT FLIPPABALL
FlippaBall is a non-competitive social introduction to water polo for boys and girls in years 2-6. The rules are modified, with the field, goals and ball reduced in size to suit the age of the participants. Players are able to form their own teams (10 players optimal) or be placed in appropriate teams. The pool is divided in to quarters.
SEASON

- Games have a 30 minute duration and are held at 4.30pm, 5pm, 5.30pm, 6pm, 6.30pm, 7pm and 7.30pm
- Younger children play at the earlier time slots
AGES
- Open to children in Year 2 through to Year 6
Note: Players MUST be in Year 6 at school to play on Friday nights
- Separate boys and girls teams as well as mixed teams
Note: Competition and team composition is dependent on number of registrations - Recommended proficiency: Able to swim 20 metres freestyle and tread water

PLAYING WITH FRIENDS
There is a section on the registration form where you can list your ‘preferred team members’ or an identifier for your team. Eg: City Beach Primary Year 3s or team organised by John Smith. For extra security the team list can be emailed to Flippaball Admin We will do our best to accommodate all requests!
FlippaBall players are encouraged to register for FlippaSwim to complement and improve their FlippaBall game.
FLIPPASWIM (training)
FlippaSwim is a 60 minute, structured, water polo specific training session that develops swimming ability, balls skills, leg strength and team play.
After school sessions are offered on Monday and Wednesday afternoons (4pm to 5pm)

SATURDAY MORNING DISTRICT SCHOOLS COMPETITION (DSC)
The very popular Saturday morning District Schools Competition is an intra club competition played by girls and boys in years 5 and above, who have played FlippaBall or are capable swimmers. The DSC is about enjoying social water polo with friends. It is also a great way of gaining experience and progressing through to the Under 14 Junior State League Water Polo Competition.
Players from schools or districts are encouraged to nominate their own teams. Individually registered players will be placed in teams. Teams play a round robin competition with finals. The pool is divided in to thirds for Year 5/6 and half for Years 7+.

- Games have a 40 minute duration and are held between 8.40am and 12pm
AGES
- Subject to registrations, two age groups: Year 5/6, Year 7 +, and 2 Divisions A&B
- Boys and girls play separate competitions
- Recommended proficiency: Able to swim 50 metres freestyle and tread water
