City Beach U18 Boys win GOLD at the National Championships, after 6 days of tough games against other clubs from all across Australia. The boys defeated Hunter Hurricanes 9-8 in a tight grand final victory that was Live Streamed across Australia via the Water Polo Australia website.
A huge congratulations and thanks to Coach Andrei Kovalenko, Managers Mike & Michelle Quinsee and the following players; Joe Goldfinch, Connor Smith, Nic Lantzke, Lach Pethick, Jed Thompson, Tom Powell, Tom Rigoll, Tim Ryall, Ben Vittino, Nathan Quinsee, Tim Putt, Carter Fabling, Harry Konowalous. Many thanks also to the parents that travelled to Adelaide to support the boys and cheer them on!
An extra special congratulations to Tim Putt who was named MVP of the Tournament and Joe Goldfinch who received Goalkeeper of the Tournament.
This victory is the third win in the season for the boys after winning the WA Mens Challenge Cup and WA State Junior League U18 Boys last month. Well done boys!

Meanwhile in Canberra our U18 Girls placed 5th, after narrowly missing out on a berth through to the medal playoffs in their National Championships campaign. Cronulla Sharks were crowned champions in the end, however it should be noted that our girls were the only team to defeat the Sharks in the earlier rounds in a tight 9-8 victory. Well done to Coach Martin Callaghan, Manager Margie Gleeson and the following girls; Tess Hosking, Jamie Davidson, Alex Hughes, Bec Liddle, Neve Annett, Dayna O’Leary, Tayla Barbas, Madi Rigo, Perri Thompson, Annie Gleeson, Tash Liddle
