Womens Water Polo in Perth

UWA City Beach Water Polo Club has a great group of ladies who enjoy playing social, competitive Women’s water polo. In Perth, the local inter-club competition is known as the WA State League Water Polo competition.

In 2015/16 we had 2 teams in Division 3.sisters-premiers

In 2016/17 we have 2 teams in Division 3 and a stronger team in Division 2:

Division 2

  • UWA City Beach Sapphires

Division 3

  • UWA City Beach sisters
  • UWA City Beach Spirit Sisters

We are keen on ensuring we have a pathway for those girls who have played water polo at the more competitive level as juniors and who decide they want to play more socially as they get older.

As such, there is a mix of ages across our teams, and a range of players from those who have played a lot of water polo and have great game experience to those who have never played before.

All games are played on a Wednesday night, mainly at our home pool, HBF stadium.

The women’s water polo teams train together on Sunday afternoons from 3-4pm in the outdoor water polo pool. These are casual and fun training sessions aimed at building on skills, fitness and understanding of the game strategies.

We welcome new players to come and give this great water sport a go.

Congratulations George Ford!  George has been selected in the Australian Men’s Water Polo Team heading off to the Rio Olympics in August.  This is George’s first Olympic Games.  It is also the first time the UWA City Beach Water Polo Club has had a current player in the Olympic Games.  George started his water polo career as a junior with the Dolphins Water Polo Club before moving to City Beach and the UWA Torpedoes National League team.  We wish him all the best on this outstanding achievement.

We also congratulate fellow WA players, Joel Swift and Aaron Younger.
